The itinerary leads to the discovery of an uncontaminated nature a stone’s throw from Turin, allows a wide overview of the different mountain environments, in an alternation of pastures, stony grounds, larch and beech woods, where with a careful look you can spot chamois, deer , roe deer, wild boar, ibex but also golden eagles, bearded vultures, kestrels, hawks in addition to the smaller fauna. The trekking also satisfies those who love to know the history of the places on holiday: during the Giro dell’Orsiera route, you will find evidence of medieval history (Certosa di Montebenedetto) and the “small” everyday history, lived by the shepherds and by the mountaineers who have populated these valleys for centuries (rock carvings, paved mule tracks, terraced slopes, rural villages, fountains and irrigation canals).
